  • 66. Is War Ever Justifiable?

In the midst of an international conflict, the discussion around war is being talked about in every circle. War is a tragic thing that almost always ends with lots of human lives lost. So how should Christians view war? Is it justifiable?

On today’s podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie talk through biblical examples of war along with God's views on war based on Scripture. We talk through different rules of war and the reasons for war. Each war that has happened throughout history is very different from the next, therefore we can't paint with a broad brush, so to speak. By the conclusion of this episode though, our hope is that you have a more biblical perspective of war and how we ought to view it today.

  • 65. Is Homosexuality Actually A Sin?

One of the hottest debates in the church (and society) is how we ought to view and respond to homosexuality. For many years, homosexuality has been condemned in the church, but is that what the Bible says? Have things been mistranslated to mean something else than what the original intention was?

On today’s podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie talk through the the design for sex, the purpose of marriage, the definition of sexual immorality, and how modern day homosexuality plays into all of it. We dig into some of the controversial Bible passages about this topic and look into what Jesus says about it. We also walk through many other Scriptures related to this topic and our hope is that this podcast would grow your faith and help you see this issue from a more biblical worldview.

  • 64. Which Way Is Right: Burial Or Cremation?

In recent years, over half of the dead have been cremated which has never been seen before. Does what happens to our bodies after death even matter though? Why are so many people choosing cremation and what does the Bible have to say about it?

On today’s podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie talk through the history of cremation and look at Bible verses related to the decision of whether to bury or cremate. Although there are not many prescriptive texts in Scripture about this topic, there are many descriptive ones that we must take into consideration. To take things a step further, we look at the issues of how we interact with the dead, regardless of what happens to their body, and talk through some theological problems with talking to a grave or keeping ashes in an urn. We hope this topic is interesting and helps inform your decision on what you would have done with your body after death.

  • 63. Is Luck Real? Is It Biblical?

Are You Feeling Lucky? Cross your fingers this episode will be a good one! "Good luck" is a common phrase we all have said one time or another, but is there such thing as "good" luck? Is there even such thing as luck? What about superstition?

On today’s podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie talk through the concept of luck and superstition. Sometimes we deem certain people as lucky or unlucky, but is that supported biblically? We've all engaged in activities, like athletes eating a specific meal before game day or wearing a certain outfit to a new job interview because we believe that we will somehow have increased chances of success. We dig into how faith in God and luck/superstition mesh (or don't) and where we should go with things. We hope you enjoy and have the "luck" of being able to listen to this without distractions!

  • 62. What Does The Bible Say About Dinosaurs?

Dinosaurs in the Bible?! You better believe it! But how can dinosaurs and the Bible coexist if they came millions of years before humans?

On today’s podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie talk through multiple passages about dinosaurs in the Bible and the vivid description we are given of them. From there, we walk through Scripture to show how humans and dinosaurs would have lived on earth at the same time and the radical impact the Flood would have had on most of the dinosaur species. • 61. Who Were The Nephilim?

Did fallen angels make babies with women to make giants?! You may not be aware of the Nephilim, but these are giant humans mentioned throughout the Old Testament…but where did they come from? Why don’t we see them today?

On today’s podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie talk through the controversial origin story of the Nephilim that is first mentioned in Genesis 6. • 60. Why Porn Is A Bigger Problem Than You Think

Human trafficking, addiction, and one of the largest moneymakers in the world all in one: pornography. We've all heard about it, yet refuse to talk about it because it isn't exactly a dinner conversation. But is it really that big of a deal?

We take a look at why engaging with pornographic material is a sin on many different levels and why we should do everything we can to avoid it.
