  • 76. Are Christians Required To Tithe?

Money. Tithes. Offerings. Even just reading the words in a church context can make people uncomfortable, but should they? Where does tithing come from and is it something we still should be doing today, or is the church just trying to make a profit?

On today’s podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie talk through the history of tithing in the Bible (which predates the Mosaic Law, believe it or not.) From there, we look at the principles of giving and how Christians should think about their tithes and offerings today. In a discussion that makes many uncomfortable and sometimes gives preachers the heebie-jeebies to preach about, we hope that you find clarity on the biblical view of tithing and can have a godly perspective on the issue!

  • 75. Is It Wrong For Christians To Get Into Fights?

We see fights in the media all the time. School fights go viral on social media. People insult one another all the time on Facebook and Twitter. People fight to defend someone else. But what should Christians do? Should we ever engage in physical, verbal, or virtual fights?

On today’s podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie answer a listener question about how Christians should handle fighting, whether in a physical, verbal, or virtual setting. What role does anger play in these fights? Our goal is to shed light on how we ought to fight (or refrain from) to bring glory to God and be a good witness for Christ. We also look into some situations that may merit physical violence. Check out this pod and we hope you're encouraged!

  • 74. What Does A Godly Mother Look Like?

With Mother's Day upcoming, we're here to help you better appreciate your momma as well as see what qualities a godly woman has in a world that often confuses what a woman even is.

On today’s podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie talk through primarily Proverbs 31 to define a godly mother (and woman in general). In America, we have all sorts of different ideas of what a mother should be. How many kids? Should she work outside the home? Is her role to cook and clean and make her husband happy? Many people have different ideas, but thankfully the Bible has plenty to say about what a godly woman is and we hope that you will be encouraged listening to this and also learn how we ought to treat our own mothers!

On today’s podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie talk through the often confusing topic of discerning the will of God.
