Very excited to chat about a topic that has been on my mind lately and I'm really glad that our guest this week, Nina Lira, a FSSWer based in Frankfurt, Germany, materialized and came into my line of sight. Nina has spent an extensive time living in Paris, France, and has embarked on many successful international tours in Canada, the USA, and Europe. Nina brings to us her years of expertise in the field, detailing with us her experiences crossing the border, finding safe accommodation, dealing with hotels and concierges, blacklists and setting rates. It is far from a "one size fits all" situation. Her rates in Canada differ than her rates in Europe, the USA and vice versa. That, and she also shares with us the precautions and steps needed to successfully enter a country with no problem. Nina, despite the many steps she takes to ensure a country seamlessly, has also had a terrible experience (as did I) getting detained at one of the international borders and with so many more SWers getting detained, suspended or even banned from certain countries due to our line of work, this is a conversation that is not only long overdue, but so needed during this time.
