Dr Mark Kestner is the Chief Innovation Officer of MediGuru, a software platform for enabling Telemedicine solutions
Mark started his career within biomedical engineering eventually going on to apply for medical school at the University of Michigan, USA. Upon the completion of his degree instead of beginning his practise of medicine within Michigan, he decided to conduct his fourth year of residency at the US Army which led to him moving to West Germany. Mark worked through various different roles throughout his career and eventually began private practise as a trauma critical care surgeon but had quickly come to the realisation that a change was needed in the healthcare system which began his journey towards telemedicine solutions. In this episode he discusses the current status of Telemedicine and the challenges in regards to its growth, how Mediguru differs from other telemedicine platforms presently on the market, his journey into healthcare, what he learnt from travelling and working around different states within the USA and his interest of first edition modern fiction books.
