Vera School for Learners with Autism was founded in 1970. It is the oldest of only five government schools in South Africa which make specific provision for learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Vera School is regarded as a specialist resource centre in the field of ASD. Teachers as well as other professionals are encouraged to utilize the school for information, support and guidance. Regular workshops are offered by the Vera staff for parents, teachers and professionals from various settings, who work with learners with ASD.

We will be chatting to Kingsley about his work in Khayelitsha with underprivileged children. He provides many work shops for the kids there to provide them with skills and resources to improve their lives. These resources also provide the children with valuable lessons and skills that they can use later on in life.

They help them support their patients as well as the staff. Their role at the hospital is very viral as it allows them to work smoothly and allows the patients to recover and develop sound mental health habits to so that they can function properly.

Tonight we will be speaking to Dayna Gay Tate, the founder of Studio Dayna Gay. Dayna describes herself as a visual storyteller who creates on mediums include photography, ceramics and water colour. Her art is mesmerizing and extremely enjoyable. Today she will be telling us more about her journey into artistry and how the Spirit leads her in her art.
