God, our Creator and Savior, gives us the opportunity to talk to Him. We do this through prayer. In this message we look at how Jesus taught his disciples to pray and in the same way teaches us. We discover that the purpose of prayer is to surrender our will to God, not to impose it on Him. After finding the right place to pray, we start by addressing God as our Heavenly Father, and then acknowledging who He is. We then dedicate our lives to His ways, and then petition for provision, pardon, and protection. By getting into the habit of praying regularly, we will see our lives transformed, as well as those of the people around us.

As James closes out his letter, he goes back to where he started; talking about trials. This time he focuses on sickness and on healing. As we dig into the text, we discover that it's actually not all about physical healing but instead about spiritual healing. We will see how God still heals today, but also how we need to manage our expectations. We will juxtapose what we read in James letter with examples where Jesus does and also does not heal people, and we will see what God looks for in us when it comes to praying for healing in our lives and the lives of those around us.

What would it look like for our eyes to be so caught up on eternity that it transformed how we live now? Our perspective on suffering, challenges, and frustrations would dramatically shift and our Kingdom impact would increase.
