With our tongues we can direct our lives, destroy others and define others with blessings and curses. Our words are powerful! Check out this message from Pastor Bill to learn how we can keep our tongues in check so they can be instruments for good rather than harm.
A faith that works is evidenced by action. In this message we look at a dead faith contrasted with an alive faith which is evidenced by our readiness to act upon the things that we believe about God and His plans and purposes.
As we continue our walk through the Book of James by looking at the second half of Chapter one, we will see three highly practical things we can do to communicate with one another and to put our Christian principles into action. If we do these things, moments in our lives have the potential to become movements in the world. We will see that to avoid miscommunication and to love others as Jesus loves us, we need to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. When it comes to living the Christian life, we need to put our faith into action by being doers of the word, and we need to be careful to avoid temptations and deceptions along the way.
Pastor Bill kicks off our new series through the Book of James talking about the trials we face and how to persevere through them.
How do we build our faith so we can weather the storms of life as well as be all God calls us to be? In this message we explore this question with the backdrop of the "Hall of Faith" found in Hebrews Chapter 11. We will see the evidence for faith, the impact of faith, and the power of faith. We will see how by doing what the author of the Book of Hebrews says, we can live a life built on the firm foundation of faith and God can use us to do remarkable things in His name.
Guest Speaker, Pastor Josh Poteet, walks us through the redemptive story of Rahab and talks about takeaways we can use today.
