The Burkers - Feeding The Dissectors
"Burking" became a Victorian term after the infamous case of Burke and Hare. Burkers are not to be confused with Resurectionists, otherwise known as grave robbers.
Burkers murdered as cleanly as possible in order to avoid marks upon the body, usually by smothering, and then sold the body on to medical schools for dissection. Hence: feeding the dissectors.
In this episode, we focus on the stories of:
1828: Burke and Hare
1831: Elizabeth Ross:
We hope you enjoy the show as much as we enjoyed making it!
