Having studied Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas San Antonio Meri had quickly realised how much of an interdisciplinary field it is combining biology and engineering principles hence had decided to co-found The BME Life which is a community of Biomedical engineers where professionals and students share resources such as career concepts, industry news and the different opportunities available to help current and future biomedical engineers navigate their career.

Meri started her career within engineering working with a medical devices start-up specialising in medical treatments for orthopaedic surgeries and now works as a regulatory affairs consultant for a medical devices consultancy. On this episode she discusses the various different industries Biomedical Engineers can consider outside of medical such as Aerospace or Automotive, unconventional methods she has used to find roles throughout her career, how to find out what the various different career choices you can have with your education, which areas within the USA are most appealing for Biomedical Engineers, why she created The BME Life and her plans for future content.
