When the crew of the USS Discovery face off against the Klingons and their new invisibility screen, they begin to realize that the spore drive may not be the ultimate weapon they think. Meanwhile, Saru, Burnham, and Tyler are on an away mission in the hopes of finding a way to penetrate the Klingon's new technology. While on the planet Pahvo, they encounter aliens that have an extreme effect on Saru.
