Captain America: Brave New World.

The last MCU movie in the theaters was the smash hit Deadpool & Wolverine (which we discussed on episode 474), so as we enter 2025 there are three movies to be released which means we’re back in the theater for the first offering of the year.

“Anomaly” 20th-anniversary reflections

Things in the Expanse get weirder—and more dangerous—as an anomaly starts rearranging Enterprise. And an unexpected visit from a group of alien pirates complicates matters and threatens to leave the crew stranded. Porthos knew it was going to be a bad day when he saw a book on the floor, but he didn't realize just how bad it would get. To keep the mission on track, Archer has to resort to more extreme measures, including torture. In the process of retrieving their supplies, the crew uncovers an even deeper mystery: an ancient sphere. And to find it, they just had to follow Jenny.

“Duet” 30th-anniversary reflections

When a Cardassian named Marritza arrives seeking medical help, Kira claims he is the notorious Gul Darhe’el and wants to punish him for his war crimes. But this case of possible mistaken identity may not be as simple as it seems. At first claiming to have been Darhe’el’s file clerk, Marritza later admits to being the butcher himself. Apparently, he payed his surgeon well to break the spell of aging, leaving Kira to ask, “Is that your chin or was that war you were raging?” A mystery unfolds aboard the station as psychic spies from Gallitep try to steal your mind’s elation. “Caretaker” 30th-anniversary reflections

In pursuit of Maquis rebels, the starship Voyager is pulled across the galaxy and quickly becomes entangled in local affairs. Captain Kathryn Janeway and rebel leader Chakotay, whose ship was also snagged by the entity known as the Caretaker, join forces as they look for a way back to Federation space. But first they must rescue missing crew members with the help of an odd merchant and his girlfriend. Once everyone has been safely returned, Janeway is faced with a difficult decision: take her crew home and abandon a world in need or destroy the Caretaker and strand Voyager 70,000 light years from the Federation.
