1970: 50 Years On and a Bridge Over Troubled Water!
.......It was 1970, 25 yrs after the end of WW2, and 6 mths into our modern Conflict! We were 16, school, work, girls, throwing petrol bombs at equally young Squaddies! Georgie Best was God, George Harrison sang ‘My Sweet Lord’, the Army enforced a Curfew on the Lower Falls and they were here for the long term, we responded with ‘the Long War’!
