This episode is my perspective on being black in America. I give a insight on how 2020 has been a roller coaster ride for African Americans in America. Dealing with COVID-19, and seeing African Americans die at the hands of police officers has been draining mentally, and emotionally for lots of African Americans. At times we feel hopeless and lost. Our anxiety has been at a all time high and at times we feel like nothing will get better. This podcast motivates the younger generation to continue to fight for change and to never get discouraged. Our fight for justice is not a sprint but as the great Nipsey Hussle would say It’s a marathon

On this episode I talk about Athlete being more than athletes and taking active approaches to see change in Minority communities. We see current NBA and WNBA players taking frontline approaches to see change, with Lebron James setting up campaigns like More Than a vote, and Chris Paul’s goal to get his colleagues registered to vote. We also see WNBA players wearing shirts that say justice for Breonna Taylor,and shirts telling people to vote. We also see athletes sitting out to focus on change like Maya Moore and Kyrie Irving. I also talk about how people in the music industry and the entertainment industry have been quiet on the topic of Tory Lanez shooting Megan the stallion, but had so much to say about 69 being released from prison.

On this episode I talk about controlling the narrative. I talk about how many protest are not being talked about or shown on social media anymore and how the hype around injustice in America for African Americans has became an after thought to many people. I also talk about how many people treated the BLM movement as a trend and not as a serious movement. I give my thought on how we can still use our platforms to bring attention to the injustice still going on today. I also bring attention to the alarming number of kids being abducted in the united states, and how our government officials have not done anything to find these kids. I also mention ways to register to vote.
