DC FanDome (2:00) finally happened this weekend! And you know we gotta break it down. From 'BLACK ADAM' to 'THE BATMAN' there's a ton to cover in the 4 hour event. The latest installment from the 'Halloween' franchise is here with 'HALLOWEEN KILLS' (57:19) and you know we had to check it out. Also the latest from Ridley Scott has hit theaters starring Matt Damon, Adam Driver, and Jodie Comer, 'THE LAST DUEL' (1:13:13). It's been a couple years but 'YOU' (1:32:41) is back for season 3 and boy is it wild! Plus some other news including new trailers and the change of MCU film dates.

A new South Korean show has hit Netflix and is the talk of the town. Of course you know we had to talk about 'SQUID GAME' (2:21), does it live up to the hype? The amazing and talented filmmaker Mike Flanagan is back again with another supposed horror banger with his latest tv show on Netflix 'MIDNIGHT MASS' (25:11). 'WHAT IF...ULTRON WON?' is the latest from the 'WHAT...IF?' (35:41) the penultimate episode that takes things up another notch. The Sopranos has returned with a prequel-esque movie in 'THE MANY SAINTS OF NEWARK (1:10:35), a film that follows Tony Soprano in his youth but focuses on his greatest influence and uncle Dickie Moltisanti. We got the opportunity to see one of the most jarring and wild movies that we've seen in a while, the winner of the Cannes most prestigious award, 'TITANE'(1:25:11). We also got to check out some streaming service films. Jordan was able to watch Jake Gyllenhaal's latest performance in 'THE GUILTY' from Netflix (1:37:47) and Desmund was able to check out one of the latest from Blumhouse's collection of Prime Video horror film 'BINGO HELL' (1:46:52).

It was a quiet week for news but we we still have plenty to talk about. This past weekend was the 2021 Emmys (2:04). Sure there may have been some snubs, including Wandavision but Netflix finally beats the competition for most Emmys won and there were other notable wins to discuss. Episode 6 of 'WHAT IF...?' (29:05) premiered last week titled 'What if...Killmonger rescued Tony Stark?' Was it a good episode? And what happens next? In this week's episode we also do a quick TV round up of some shows we've been watching including 'THE MORNING SHOW' (56:27), 'AMERICAN CRIME STORY' (57:56), 'MONSTERS AT WORK' (59:13), and 'NONA' (1:02:030). There's also some films we got the chance to check out this past week including 'COPSHOP' (1:03:46), 'THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE' (1:14:32), and 'THE FOREVER PURGE' (1:23:38). We also lost another dear black entertainer in Anthony 'A.J.' Johnson, the actor and comedian best known for movies like 'FRIDAY', 'MENACE II SOCIETY', and 'DEF JAM'S HOW TO BE A PLAYER'. RIP King.

The 4th television show from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has arrived in 'WHAT IF...?' (1:40), in the first episode we explore a timeline where Peggy Carter received the super soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers. 'FREE GUY' (23:51), one of the films that was in production during Disney's acquisition of Fox has hit theaters. Starring Ryan Reynolds, the movie is filled with elements of video games, comedy, and action. The sequel to the secret and surprise hit 'DON'T BREATHE' (41:45) has hit theaters only and we had to check it out in theaters. Desmund got the chance to catch up on a new tv show from HBO 'THE WHITE LOTUS' (52:29) a limited drama series with an ensemble cast that has the streets talking! And per usual, of course we have a ton of news to talk about. (1:03:50)

TV has been booming over the past month as the new hit HBO series Watchmen has graced our presence, as well as a the new Netflix series Raising Dion. As Desmund and Jordan seek to unpack these TV shows they break down some of the most important themes in them and discuss the continued success of black women in comic book content. Also 'Parasite', is it this best movie this year? And finally 2 Black Nerds discuss the latest album of the controversial artist Kanye West, 'Jesus Is King', is it good, and even if it is, has Kanye gone mad?  

What a journey it has been! This is the final episode of 2 Black Nerds. In the episode, we discuss all the memories and learnings from our time hosting this podcast and conduct our mailbag, answering questions that were sent in by the fans. We also include one last exercise where we attempt to pick our favorite 50 movies. It's been a blast hosting this podcast and we thank every single person who ever listened or shared what we do. Before we bring the podcast to a close, we have to give our final thoughts on where things are with the MCU. In this episode, we reminisce on all of the Marvel projects we've covered since the podcast began, we discuss the Multiverse saga, and we do an activity where we do power rankings and talk about 5 characters each who could potentially impact the film the most. We also highlight some of our favorite memories from the movies and do a fun round of "this or that".

Since launching this podcast, we've covered nearly every Star Wars release. Before wrapping up, we'll reminisce about our journey from "The Rise of Skywalker" through "Skeleton Crew" and share our thoughts on what the future holds for the galaxy far, far away. We also undertake a fun exercise: creating a report card to grade the Star Wars projects of the last decade.

So much to talk about. Episode 2 of 'WHAT IF....?' ((1:51) has premiered and were all blessed with another performance of the late great Chadwick Boseman as he played T'Challa the Starlord. We were also able to catch a movie this past weekend, a horror/thriller film called 'THE NIGHT HOUSE' (25:14) starring Rebecca Hall. Netflix has begun it's 'UNTOLD' documentary series with 'MALICE IN THE PALACE'(36:18). A retelling of the famous NBA event that included NBA stars Jermaine O'Neal, Metta World Peace (Ron Artest at the time), and Stephen Jackson. Christiana Milian is back acting in her latest movie from Netflix 'RESORT TO LOVE' (49:55) and there's a new anime on the block with 'TOKYO REVENGERS' (57:47). Also this past weekend was a huge weekend for professional wrestling across the board. The return of the legend CM Punk with AEW and one of the largest wrestling events of the year with WWE's Summerslam (1:02:26). And of course we have more news including, the 'STAR WARS: VISIONS' trailer, the latest trailer for 'THE ETERNALS', a brief overview of the first 3 episode of 'SWEET LIFE: LOS ANGELES' and more.

What a week it has been since the last episode. The latest installment of the MonsterVerse is here and bigger than ever with 'GODZILLA VS KONG' (2:40) premiering on HBO Max. Of course we had to discuss the clash of the titans. This week we actually had two movie nights and outside of Godzilla vs Kong we watched 'CONCRETE COWBOY' (37:00) which premiered on Netflix, a movie about a rebellious teen sent to live with his father, who resides in a community of Cowboys in Philadelphia. You also know each and every week we have to discuss the latest episode of 'FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER' (50:30) as well as some new trailers and movie news (1:16:52) on the block including 'SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY' and other DC news. Not to mention one of the biggest music events in history happened this past Sunday as the legends, Earth, Wind and Fire, and the Isley Brothers came together for the most amazing Verzuz (1:52:57) thus far, resetting the culture and making everyone's week before it even started. Also in the world of music we have to discuss the recent news about the hip-hop icon DMX and the shocking reality about his health and what it might mean.
