In their regular Thursday night round-up, Neil and Rob discuss the current state of VFL & VFLW matches including this week's team selections for the Cats. After the break, they return to discuss last week's inter-league results involving the GFL, BFL and GDFL and then preview the upcoming games in each of the local competition.
And it wouldn't be 2 Blokes Chatting unless they found a couple of annoying and/or puzzling phrases used by footy commentators and discussed their origin and/or meaning.
In this episode, we talk VFL, VFLW, local footy and the all-important inter-league matches where the Bellarine Football League (BFL) take on the Geelong and District Football League (GDFL) and the Geelong Football League (GFL) take on the Northern Football League, both games being played at Queens Park.
In this episode, VFLW football makes its first appearance with the Cats kicking off their season on Sunday afternoon. Still too early to make predictions about the season ahead but we send some time chatting about the Cats and the team to beat. We also talk about the three local competitions and a bit about annoying commentary phrases.
In this episode, Rob and Neil cover all aspects of local footy - VFL, a brief mention of VFLW - much more about that next weekend when the Cats start - GFL, BFL and GDFL.
As well, we discuss the merits of upgrading the Whitten Oval to allow AFL football to be played there and acknowledge the passing of pioneer football broadcaster and great supporter of the Royal Childrens' Hospital Good Friday Appeal, Mike Williamson
In this week's episode, Neil and Rob discuss last week's VFL local derby match between Geelong and Werribee and move onto the GFL, BFL and GDL matches for this round. We give you an overview of the three games played today as part of the ANZAC Day commemoration activities and look towards the weekend for the completion of the round.
Towards the end, we discuss some of the ridiculous cliches that have found their way into AFL coach press conferences - a 29-second clip from Stuart Dew from the Gold Coast Suns includes five that deserve attention.
In this week's episode, Neil and Rob discuss VFL results and, given the bye weekend for GFL and GDFL, focus their local footy attention to the Bellarine Football League.
Towards the end, you'll hear our thoughts on the selections in the Australian Cricket One Day Squad.
This week, we review the first round of VFL, GFL, BFL and GDFL football. A disappointing start to the season for the VFL Cats, losing the first round match to Richmond.
In this episode, we also tell you the ins and outs for the Cats and their Round 2 opponents, the Northern Blues.
The season is about to kick off and Neil and Rob can't contain their excitement. Join them as they chat about VFL teams, local footy and the launch of goFooty.Live.
Tonight's the night - the start of the 2019 AFL season and so, before things started, Rob and Neil give us their predictions for the season ahead. Apart from announcing their predictions for the grand finalists, the wooden spooner, the "bolter", the Brownlow Medal winner and the Coleman Medal Winner, the blokes take us back to their memories of the 1969 Brownlow Medal count - 50 years ago this September, reflecting on the changes that have taken place since then. And they don't sound like fans of that change.
With Neil in Perth and Rob in Geelong we test out our mobile recording equipment and ... it looks like we have been successful.
We chat about Geelong's win over the Brisbane Lions in AFLW, some thoughts about our favourite AFL teams' first hit outs in the JLT season and then some chat about Australian and Victorian cricket.

2 Blokes Chatting life as an informal podcast that focused mainly on VFL, VFLW & local footy in and around the Geelong region. During 2019, we produced over 30 episodes, primarily eavesdropping on the 2 Blokes as they chatted.
With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, the VFL, VFLW & local footy was cancelled (yes, some VFL games have been scheduled but none involving our Geelong Cats) and so the 2 Blokes Chatting podcast went into recess.
And then the call came - local radio station engaged the 2 Blokes to host a live program from 9:00am till 11:00am every Saturday morning, starting on 28 March 2020. And so, 2 Blokes Chatting became The 2 Blokes Chatting Radio Show!
Licensing restrictions forbid us from including the very excellent music that we play on the Radio Show in podcast episodes and so, we have taken it upon ourselves to extract the guest interviews from each program and upload them as podcast episodes - one episode per radio program.
