In 1996, there was the murder of Tupac Shakur and JonBenet Ramsey; a year later we saw the demise of fashion icon, Gianni Versace, and, in 1998, Saturday Night Live favourite Phil Hartman was shot to death by his own wife. Perhaps the most notable crime of the year 1999 was the Columbine High School massacre, which overshadowed many of the other missing reports and murder cases at that time.
