The Tom Collins cocktail comes with controversy. Both the English and the Americans claim it as their own. Listen to each sides argument, plus some fun facts, and decide for yourself. 

Tom Collins Recipe: 

2 ounces London dry gin

1 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed

1/2 ounce simple syrup

Club soda, to top

Garnish: lemon wheel

Garnish: maraschino cherry

Preparation:

Add the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup to a Collins glass.

Fill with ice, top with club soda and stir.

Garnish with a lemon wheel and maraschino cherry (optional).

50 ml Rye Whiskey = to 1.6907 oz

Preparation:

Pour all ingredients into mixing glass with ice cubes. Stir well. Strain into a chilled glass.

Mickey Finn Recipe: 

1 oz gin (3 cl)

1 oz dry vermouth (3 cl)

¼ oz Absinthe (6 dashes)

¼ oz white creme de menthe (6 dashes)

Stir in mixing glass with ice strain

Add cherry or mint sprig

Serve in a cocktail glass (4.5 oz)

Gin Fizz Recipe:

· 2 ounces gin

· 1 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed

· 3/4 ounce simple syrup

· 1 egg white (about 1/2 ounce)

· Club soda, to top (about 1 ounce)

Preparation:

Add the gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white to a shaker and vigorously dry-shake (without ice) for about 15 seconds.

Add 3 or 4 ice cubes and shake vigorously until well-chilled.

Double-strain into a chilled Collins glass and top with club soda.

Cosmopolitan Recipe:

1 1/2 oz Vodka Citron,

1 oz Cranberry juice,

1/2 oz Cointreau, or triple sec or orange liquor

1/2 oz Fresh lime juice

Preparation:

Preparation: Add all ingredients into cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and double strain into large cocktail glass. Garnish with lime wheel.

Served: Straight up; without ice

Standard garnish: Lemon slice, Lime wedge, orange twist

3 oz Cranberry Juice 

Add vodka, peach schnapps, and cranberry juice to a highball glass filled with ice and stir briefly to combine.

It's a classic cocktail with a new name. No one wants anything Russian right now so Melody and Bugbee decided to change the name in solidarity with Ukraine.
