On today’s episode, Pavi & Colin take a look at the 2023 Musical Comedy Film “Dicks: The Musical.” The film stars Josh Sharp and Aaron Jackson as a pair of twins who set out to reunite their divorced parents - ‘Parent Trap’ style. Alongside Sharp and Jackson, the film also stars Nathan Lane, Megan Thee Stallion, and Megan Mullally. The film uses classic tropes while also exploring sexuality and interweaving some crazy storylines and ideas (just wait for the Sewer Boys!)

On today’s special Halloween episode, Pavi & Colin take a look at the newest installment in the ‘Saw’ series: ‘Saw X.’ The Saw series is one of the most well-known horror film series of all time. The story follows serial killer John Kramer/Jigsaw as he puts his victims through tests/games instead of just killing them. The way they are killed is usually, if not always, in a grotesque, violent way which has helped lead it to becoming the phenomenon it is. In Saw X, Kramer travels to Mexico for medical treatment and once learning that it is a scam, he puts everybody involved in the scam through his game.

Welcome to episode 18 of "Then, A Moment"! A podcast where two life-long storytellers talk about stories!

On today’s episode, Pavi & Colin take a look at the new Max series ‘Fionna and Cake’. Fionna and Cake is a spin-off of the hit cartoon, ‘Adventure Time’ with gender swapped versions of the main characters. Fionna the Human (Finn) and Cake the Cat (Jake the Dog.) Fionna (voiced by Madeleine Martin) lives a normal life without magic in the city alongside her cat, Cake (voiced by Roz Ryan.) Fionna dreams of a magical land while living a normal life, eventually being able to travel through the multiverse along with Simon Petrikov (voiced by Tom Kenny and known in Adventure Time as the Ice King.)

The series premiered on August 31, 2023 on Max and ran for 10 episodes with a conclusive story.

On today’s special birthday episode, Pavi chose to take a look at one of his favorite movies, “The Fifth Element.” The Fifth Element is a 1997 sci-fi cult classic with a star studded cast including Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman, and Chris Tucker. This sci-fi classic takes place in the 23rd century and follows Korben Dallas (Willis) and a humanoid woman named Leeloo (Jovovich) as they try to keep Earth safe from an impending attack of a malevolent cosmic entity.

West Side Story follows the story of Tony and Maria as they fall in love despite their associations to rival gangs (Jets & Sharks.) West Side Story was inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and gives it a modern spin - taking place in West Side Manhattan in the 1950s. Originally produced in 1957, there have been multiple movies and reproductions made with today’s group discussing the June 2023 production at the Chicago Lyric Opera.
