2 Guys Talkin' Toys

Let’s talk about the creepy things that go bump in the night or roar and knock down your house!

The premiere superhero team has probably found their way onto the shelves of most collectors in some way shape or form. Today Tom and Dana discuss The Avengers!

It's something that I think all collectors eventually ask themselves. Should I still collect? In this episode Dana and Tom discuss the things that might lead to someone deciding to take a break from collecting or sometimes stop collecting altogether.

When you think of heroes, one of the first teams to come to mind are the Justice League! From Superman to Hawkman to Aquaman, I think if you collected figures from the 80s onward you probably had at least a few members of this super team on your shelves.

With the July 4th holiday behind us, Tom and Dana discuss toys that symbolize the USA and patriotism, in all the various forms that may take when it comes to characters and action figures.

We had a lot of fun with the discussion from last week but weren’t able to get to as many of the African American toys as we wanted, so we decided to do a Part 2!

A lot of the allure of collecting is getting figures that look cool, but there is always that element of being able to identify at a glance with a particular figure. For a lot of African American collectors, figures that you could immediately identify with were far and few between. In this episode Tom and Dana discuss their experiences collecting African American figures/characters and how that has (or hasn’t) changed over the years.

Happy Father’s Day!

In the realm of action figures, the “Dad” character is usually pretty far and few between.

In today’s episode Tom and Dana discuss the characters in toylines that embrace the position of Dad, what I means to us and whether or not it affected our collections.
