Catherine is the wife of late country music legend Freddy Powers. Freddy wrote numerous hit country songs for artists such as Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard (6 number ones), Big & Rich and many others. Freddy also produced and performed many great country songs. Join us as we talk about their lives, how Freddy worked through PARKINSON’S INSPIRING MANY and continued to live the life he wanted, culminating in the book and MOVIE (In the works) called The Spree of 83: The Life And Times Of Freddy Powers

The Spree of 83: The Life And Times Of Freddy Powers was co-written with by Freddy with his wife, Catherine Powers, and biographer Jake Brown. The memoir recounts first-hand the story behind Powers’ decades-long career in the music business, including his battle with Parkinson’s disease in the years leading to his death in 2016.

About Gaynor:

After a few years experiencing symptoms she attributed to stress, Gaynor Edwards visited her general practitioner and learned that the symptoms instead were caused by something neurological. Nine months of various scans later, she received a diagnosis of Young Onset Parkinson’s at the age of 42. “‘You have Parkinson’s.’ Those are three words no one wants to hear,” she says.

Gaynor found support and resources in the UK’s major Parkinson’s charity, but she quickly discovered that YOPD wasn’t a focus there. “I thought, ‘Well, it’s needed. We need to start a charity dedicated to Young Onset. I guess I’ll have to do it.’ So, I did.”

Gaynor founded and continues to lead Spotlight YOPD (a registered charity in the UK)

Nathan Lee Ward was diagnosed with Parkinson's at 26. Nathan battled through agonist drugs, brain fog and other PD related issues such as appetite and sleep deprivation. Nathan decided to give cannabis a try., and eventually gave up his Parkinson's drugs. With the right strain and right approach Nathan feels clear headed, sleeps better, and has improved his appetite.

He understands this may not work for everyone; it does work for him.
