Men of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, otherwise known as Amotekun Corps have arrested one hundred cows for flouting the open grazing law of the State.

The cows were caught grazing along the busy Akure/Ilesa highway.

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has sworn with the Quran that he has no connection with bandits disturbing the peace in the state.

He also challenged residents of the state, irrespective of their status, to do the same to prove that they have no hands in the security challenges bedevilling the state.

The governor gave the challenge on Sunday in Gusau, the state capital while receiving an award as the Khadimul Quran conferred on him by the Centre for Quranic Reciter, Nigeria.

“As I’ve been mentioning, the issue of insecurity is not just for Federal Government, governor or other security agencies; the issue of insecurity is for all of us, and we should not politicise the issue of insecurity.

“I have sworn with the Holy Quran that if I know, or if I am part of, or I know anybody who is coordinating this (banditry), or with my hand or any of my family, may Allah not give me (speaks in Arabic) in this life,” he said.

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have attacked Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.

Channels Television gathered that the incident happened on Saturday at Tyo Mu along Makurdi/Gboko road in Makurdi Local Government Area of the state.

Briefing journalists, Ortom, who described the gunmen as ‘herdsmen’, said about 15 of the attackers trailed him to the river bank where he was on foot.

Violence erupted on Wednesday in Ilorin, Kwara State capital after the state government reopened 10 schools shut last month over the use of hijab by Muslim female students.

The violence started after Christian officials of Baptist School, Surulere disallowed the girls in Hijab from gaining access into the school.

This did not go down well with Muslim parents, leading to arguments and eventual clash.

The situation grew worse as angry Christian and Muslim faithful threw various objects including stones and plastic chairs at themselves.
