The immediate past governor of Imo state, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha has approached an Owerri high court seeking a perpetual court injunction re-straining the state house of assembly from probing him over an allegedly missing n19.63 billion local government funds said to be missing from the local government during his 7-month tenure.

The defendants in the suit are Imo state house of assembly, the speaker and the clerk of the house of assembly.

The Lagos state government is forecasting that cases of COVID-19 in the state may increase to 120,000 by July.

At a press briefing today, the state commissioner for health professor Akin Abayomi explains that the state will likely commence Hydroxychloroquine trials in about a week.

He reveals that Lagos is currently manufacturing sample collection kits and is working to get more test re-agents.

The federal government has successfully evacuated the first batch of Nigerians stuck abroad amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Nigerians arrived in Lagos from Dubai on an emirate airline flight this evening after an initial delay earlier in the day.

The emirates flight is expected to be the first of at least two other flights scheduled to evacuate Nigerians within the next few days.
