Aaron and Carol, if you could each change three things about the system, what would they be?

Would it be better access to independent legal advice? More support to keep families together safely? Stronger investigations into professional mistakes? Better aftercare for care leavers? Or a clearer process for challenging decisions?

We need practical answers, not just promises.

If public authorities have made mistakes, those mistakes should be examined. If people have suffered harm, their complaints should be taken seriously. And if a decision was necessary to protect a child, the reasons should be properly documented and explained through the appropriate legal process.

The aim must be a system that protects children without abandoning fairness, compassion or accountability.

Tonight, we've heard why it is so important to listen to care leavers and families affected by care proceedings.

Behind every case file is a child. Behind every family separation are people whose lives may be changed forever.

We must be willing to ask difficult questions about allegations, evidence, legal representation, adoption, accountability and the long-term support offered to care leavers.

We must also recognise that every case is different and that protecting children from genuine harm remains essential.

What matters is that decisions are made fairly, evidence is examined carefully, mistakes are addressed, and people are not left feeling that nobody will listen.

On this podcast the Two Peas, Andy and Tim, discussed the phenomenon seen in the night sky the day Jesus was born, an astrological event that happened when the planets Jupiter (the planet ruling kings) was in conjunction with Saturn (a malefic planet usually bringing challenges or trouble). The conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn occurred in the sign of Pisces. This conjunction occurred three times in 6BC, the year Jesus was born, May 27, October 1, and December 1. December is winter in Judea/Palestine, and too cold for shepherds to be out at night tending to their flocks. No way Jose. It was more likely to have been a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the sign of Pisces on May 27 that the miraculous birth of God incarnate would have occurred. Hence, we celebrate the birth of Jesus on the wrong date on the calendar, as he was born in the spring and not in the winter.
