For countless fans across the globe, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the biggest video game coming in all of 2024. That includes Kevin and Sean. They are both around 20 hours or so into the game, and they are beyond hyped to give their spoiler-free thoughts on the game so far. Spoiler alert - it's their GOTY so far by a mile. Let's dig in!
After a lot of hand-wringing and fanboy consternation, Xbox finally responded to the rumors of them heading into a third-party future... with a podcast... Nevertheless, we now know the "truth" about where Xbox is headed into the future, with some of the rumors being true and some being false. The guys go into everything that was announced, as well as their thoughts on what it means for the future of the Xbox brand. On the other side of the aisle, PlayStation shared some less than stellar news about where they are headed in the next year, and we also got some new updates on Nintendo's meteoric sales numbers for the Switch. Other topics include reviewing Lords of Exile, Kevin getting a new toy, plans for their upcoming milestone, and lots more.
For the first time in what seems like forever, PlayStation has spoken. Capped off by an amazing 10 minute trailer for Death Stranding 2, PlayStation showed off 15 games and delivered one of their most impressive State of Play streams ever. From Stellar Blade to Kojima's action-espionage announcement, the guys recap everything that was shown off. They also cover recent reports about PlayStation getting back in the handheld game, Starfield potentially coming to PS5, the whining around Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League living up to it's name, and lots more!
Sean has returned from his cruise, and he kicks the podcast off by regaling everyone with tales from his journey. The guys then get into their hopes for this week's PlayStation State of Play before getting both of their thoughts on beating and Platinuming Prince of Persia The Lost Crown. They also go over a new report on the Switch successor going with an LCD screen, as well as discussing the recent massive layoffs that have hit Xbox after completing the Activision Blizzard merger.
Sean may be out of the country cruising around the Caribbean, but that doesn't mean the podcasting world comes to a halt! This week, Kevin is joined by his good friend James Soler, his brother from another mother. Topics include Xbox's impressive Developer Direct, Kevin's review of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a Metal Gear history lesson, Switch 2 talk/speculation, and lots more!

The Game Awards have come and went, and once again the guys are feeling let down by a Geoff Keighley show. At over 3.5 hours long, this year's edition was easily the longest show ever put on by Geoff, and the incredibly low amount of time spent recognizing the actual winners of the awards was concerning to say the least. That being said, the guys run through all the announcements and winners from the lengthy event.
2023 is drawing to a close, and that means it is time for the yearly tradition of Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards. As the guys love to do, they go through their predictions, hopes, and dreams for the reveals and announcements at the show, along with who they think the winners in each category will be. With 2023 being acknowledged as one of the greatest years ever in video games, the winners are sure to come with some with some controversy. Other topics include beating Super Mario RPG, The Last Faith, and Kevin jumping into the deep end and trying out Dragon Quest 11.
2023 continues to be one of the greatest years in gaming ever with last week's release of Super Mario RPG. Sean has been a fan of it for 27 years, and Kevin is playing through it for the first time and they are both in love with it. Sean also picked up the newest 2D Bloodborne-inspired game, The Last Faith, and gives his impressions of the game so far. The guys also celebrate the 25th anniversary of Ocarina of Time, answer some listener questions, and discuss the puzzling announcement of The Last Of Us Part 2 getting the remaster treatment, among other things.
