It’s hard to believe a Kentucky that didn’t have wild turkeys!  Not the Wild Turkey elixir but the beautiful animal. But that’s just how it use to be!

 Thanks to the Wild Turkey Federation, and especially Kentucky’s chapter, the population of wild turkeys has become at a level that is both healthy and maintained!

The Bo Brothers had a chance to sit down with all around great guy Mike Kelty who serves as the Treasurer of the Kentucky Wild Turkey Federation to talk all things Turkey!!

Not only did we talk about the preservation and other goals of the Wild Turkey Federation, we also talked about the huge 50th Anniversary of the Kentucky Wild Turkey Federation. 

This big celebration is highlighted by a humongous concert on August 22nd at the Amp at Log Still Distillery in New Haven, Kentucky featuring Country Music star and outdoorsman Craig Morgan!

This was a fun show. How many times can you bring two UK legends together for a show who just happen to be father and daughter!?  That was the case when the Bo brothers spent some time with Makayla and Anthony Epps.  Two bonafide UK legends!  Makayla is fresh off her induction into the University of Kentucky Hall of Fame. Listen as Makayla talks about her career and her father Anthony talks about her accomplishment in addition to his time as a key player of the 1996 NCAA championship team. In the 2000's, there was not a band in Central Kentucky that had quite the cult following as Hooker.  Nearly non stop from 2002 until 2010, Hooker was doing gigs all over to packed houses... opening for the likes of Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and other who's who of mainstream country music.  The boys mostly from Hodgenville literally grew up with a generation of young folks just like them having their songs sung back to them by packed houses of star struck crowds.   And now, Hooker has recently released their songs on all music platforms and are back to doing shows thanks primarily to a mutual friend -- TJ Downs.  

Like the Jake Owen song "I was Jack (you were Diane)", Hooker is now having their fans going back in time!  This episode is perfect timing as Kyle Williamson, Hurley, and Doc sat down with the Bo Brothers to talk about old times and what's in store for Hooker - which we are happy to say includes an August 1st performance in Lebanon during the Lebanon Tourism's Summer Concert Series!
