Billy Bang wasn’t called “Billy Bang” for nothing. He earned that name as a demolitions expert in Viet Nam but it was equally apt when he was blowing up the violin in searing explosions filled with joy and heartache. Few know this as well as drummer William Hooker who toured and recorded with Billy.

William Hooker has never released the recordings but he shares them with us in this Deep Focus from 2017 on Billy Bang.
