The Cape Coral Courtyard Condominiums in Cape Coral, Florida, comprise of one and two-story wood-paneled townhouses. They’re nestled at the end of a winding road and are shaded under large trees, just west of Viscaya Parkway. Madeline Munch was fast asleep in her condominium on 10 May, 1990, when she was awoken by deafening screams coming from next door. Those screams were followed by tearful pleas of “my baby, my baby, the fucking neighbours, why didn’t they wake up?”
