21st Century Women would like to acknowledge Transgender Day of Remembrance (today, November 20) as we mourn and remember trans and gender diverse people world wide who have endured violence as a direct result of their gender identity.
In this episode we explore The Emergence of Rainbow T with first-time filmmaker and Joy volunteer Toni Paynter. Her touching short-film (which screened as part of Tilde this October) is a detailed and moving exploration of Toni’s life.
Plus we discuss The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson a powerful documentary exploring the influence and impact of queer icon, gay rights activist and self-described ‘street queen’ Marsha P. Johnson.
