After serving as Senior Pastor for 19 years, Dr. Gaines transitioned to his emeritus role in 2024. He also served as the President of the Southern Baptist Convention from 2016 to 2018. He continues to be a widely respected voice in the areas of prayer, evangelism, and pastoral ministry.
