Though the origin story of this ghastly, quasi-humanoid she-beast read like a mishmash of a gore-drenched 1950's E.C. Comic and a kid friendly 1960's Marvel superhero introduction, the fact is that—whatever her genesis may be—the hulking carnivorous creature known to natives of the Sierra Nevada Mountains as "Penelope" leaves all who witness her feeling both petrified… and lucky to be alive.
