1 Peter 2:25 (NKJV)
For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
This is one of those verses I write in my journal every time I come to it. There’s a peace that settles over me when I am reminded He is the Shepherd and Overseer of my soul.
I talked about my ER visit in the episode "Bright Spots," but when I came to this verse, I noticed even more of the ways God had been caring for me.
I also tell the story of the perfectly-timed letter. It was one of those unmistakable reminders of God’s kindness and how He often shepherds us through the timely obedience of others.
We’ll look briefly at the simple needs of sheep (including their daily need for water) and how it points us back to Jesus’ invitation to come to Him for living water. Maybe you’re like me and need those reminders again and again.
I’ll end with the song, “Where He Restores.”
