In July of 1905 a woman named Katy DeWitt James boarded a train with her 14 month old Lulu Belle. The two were on their way to visit a cousin just one day after Katy had divorced her husband. Her father escorted the pair to the train station. As he waved to them through the sun and steam, he had no idea that he would never see his daughter again.
