Coach V gets heavy with a prostate cancer message during prostate cancer awareness month.  Not for the faint of heart but for the man's man who want to be here for their loved ones and be who they want to be not who they are forces to be because of prostate cancer.  Only watch this if you are man enough to hear the truth can you "handle the truth"?  Don't be a Goofus be a Gallant.

Coach V uses 3 different talking points as he jumps around trying to get his listeners to understand the simple message, nothing worth having is free.  Ryan Powell had a t-shirt a while back that said, "The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary", Coach V had a mantra, "Everyone hates to lose, the difference between me and everyone else is how hard I am willing to work not to lose." and lastly he talks about the 10,000-hour principle from the Malcolm Gladwell book, "The Outliers".  Have fun jumping around with coach V, he hopes you get the message that the only things in life worth having are those that you actually worked for!

Today's show covers the history of your high school sports regardless of where you coach and the importance of acknowledging and sharing that history with your athletes. Coach believes challenging your athletes to leave their own legacy and be part of the history that deserves to be remembered is a great motivator!  Coach talks about his early experiences of witnessing greatness in athletics at Carthage and the importance of not letting that history be forgotten.  The show shifts focus to a Carthage Comet event this summer where athletes will gather to share stories of the past and in doing so make sure some of these stories are remembered and passed down.  Anyone wanting information on this event should email [email protected], see you at the event on August 21st in Watertown at the Hilton Garden Inn

Coach V returns with a vengeance and tongue in cheek thanks to Covid for a not-so-great year.  Coach does his best to not be political but ends up being "just a little political"!  Coach concentrates on the sports seasons lost at the HS and college level and how these poor kids were cheated out of athletics for almost a year!  Thanks, Covid!

Today Coach V will relive the hunt that allows him to take his "Buck of a lifetime"!  Not the biggest buck in the world by any means but a trophy for his wall none the less.  You'll see 7 bucks and meet 7 hunters through coach's words, all Northern New York guys just having fun in the Fall!  Sit back and enjoy the hunt!

Coach V recalls stories of his past that involve mishaps that could only happen to him....or could they only happen to him?  Coach uses the phrase "What's the worst thing that could happen?", as the precursor to the fact he's probably going to find out!

Former Adelphia head coach Paul "Doc" Doherty, a National Lacrosse Hall Of Farmer, is remembered by Coach 24 with stories of Paul's life and accomplishments.  Paul passed away earlier this spring from complications from Parkinson's Disease.  Paul was a volunteer assistant at Carthage after he retired from Adelphia.  He and his wife bought an island on nearby Lake Bonaparte and was invited aboard the CCS staff.  "Doc" was a blessing to everyone he new including all of the former Comets he coached.  RIP Doc, we love you!

Coach V sings the praises of three former players who are currently pro lacrosse guys.  The emphasis will be on Andrew Bracy the most surprising pro player he has ever coached.  Andrew is a face-off guy for the Long Island Lizards of the MLL.  His dream is playing out based on effort and determination, a true American success story!  Andrew was a small college guy after a less than stellar Carthage career who saw an opportunity to live out a dream by using the tried and true American way of, commitment, dedication, and good old fashion hard work!  Coach also spends time boosting the career paths of PLL head coach and former Comet Nat St. Laurent and another Comet, PLL Water-dogs OC Robbie Cross...enjoy the show
