Coach V tells of circumstances in his life that helped him become a person who extends his hand to others to help them obtain greatness!  This small town guy was afraid as a youth to leave the small town.  Afraid of failure?  Maybe, but through the support of his family he finally was able to rise above the feeling that no one ever leaves Carthage, no one "great" comes from there!  He spent his career extending his hand to Carthage kids helping them out of Carthage and helped his athletes shake off the "hold them back" mentality that he perceived was Carthage.... Don't be the guy who holds those heads from getting out of the pool, be a person who extends your hand to help others to their own GREATNESS!

Coach V shares his adopted philosophy about the makeup of any team, group, or organization.  He explains how he understands the theory of these three groups that compose your team/organization/business.  The three groups being those who are a) all in b) those on the fence c) those who are out and never will be in.  Coach talks about going from being a fence guy as a youth to how he became an ALL IN guy as he matured.  Coach became successful when he became ALL IN and surrounded himself with people who shared his passion!  You are either in or your out....

Coach V covers the importance of the firm handshake and making eye contact as well as always being at the top of your game on and off the field because you never know when your 5 minutes is going to be.  Coaches as well as in life, sometimes the first impression is the only impression you are going to get a chance to make!

Coach V has his first guests, the staff of Philippines inaugural world lacrosse team staff Associate Head Coach Tony Ventiquattro, Offensive Coordinator Rob Cross and Defensive Coordinator Ben Gaebel.

During Coach 24's career at Carthage HS he developed a list of 24 requirements (rules) each player and parent had to commit too by signature prior to the start of the season.  Today you will hear the rules and the reason behind the rules and why there were 24 of them.  If you are of the philosophy that you need 3 rules, or that 24 is too many Coach 24 will tell you why he thinks if you coach high school kids you are wrong!

Coach steps on a few toes today when he talks about parents and kids wanting to bypass the skill development part of playing at the next level with showcases!  Coach tries to set the record straight that skills have to be developed and concentrated on before you look for a place to be discovered!  Back in the day......the only kids playing at the next level were kids who came through programs where skills were emphasized and honed before you even though about "showcasing" your game!

Coach V tries to fire you and anyone else choosing to listen up?  We are Americans...We can help things get better while practicing social distancing!  Reach out via technology to others, buy someone or some special group of those on the front lines a meal!  Quit feeling sorry for yourself! Young people it is time to grow up and show some mature forward-thinking...USA USA USA
