Another way in which self-esteem can affect a marriage is when a partner loses confidence in themselves and searches for someone to pull them up. If they cannot find that person in their partner, they will look elsewhere for validation. In these scenarios, you may tell your wife that they are beautiful, intelligent, and accomplished, but these words do not reach her.
