Old hotels are always filled with hidden treasures. From little hints of times past to stories and photographs of famous guests who once roamed the halls, older buildings always come with an air of mystery.

The Grove Park Inn in Asheville North Carolina is a woodsy hotel and a favorite of tourists, especially for its extravagant Christmas decorating and Gingerbread House Competition. The history, however, is anything but cookie-cutter.
