The Gift of Life - Aging Well, Aging Smart, and Wisdom for the Journey is a book authored by Martha L. Henderson, GNP, D.Div., and Meg Mindell, LCSW. The life and work of Martha is the origin of this book. Camilla Taft Hicks, Martha’s niece, in collaboration with Meg, brought the manuscript to publication after Martha’s death. This book highlights the passion of the authors for celebrating the later years of life, just as the earliest moments in life are celebrated with so much anticipation and preparation.
In this episode, nurses have an opportunity to hear stories of living and dying well. Older adults are frequently encountered in the work nurses perform. This book is rich in author reflections, patient and family stories, and resources, all intended to trigger thoughts and conversations and provide insight into the later years of life.
