The Sparkling Train introduces Dragon to the airplanes. It's nice to have some friends to fly with!

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Flying Friends” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

Flying Friends Excerpt:

Dragon gazed at the red-orange sun through the leaves and branches of the trees in the forest. It sank lower and lower in the sky until it completely disappeared.  Dragon felt all fluttery in its belly knowing that tonight the train would introduce it to the planes at the airport.  The dragon always felt a little fluttery in the belly when meeting someone new.  Would the planes be friendly? Taking a deep dragon breath in and out Dragon realized that if the train said that the planes were friendly, they probably were.  Feeling reassured, the dragon headed to the train’s forest platform.

 

As the dragon approached, the sparkling train whistled to tell Dragon that it was time to go.  The whistle was also the signal that the people had all left.  Cautiously the dragon climbed up to the train’s platform.  When the sparkling train saw Dragon it smiled and said, “There you are! Are you ready to meet the planes?”  Dragon shrugged its shoulders and took a deep dragon breath in and out.  The flames showed butterflies dancing in the dragon’s belly. “I understand.  You feel nervous.” the train said, “Does it help you to know that the planes are excited to meet you? They’ve been asking me when you’re coming every time I go past the airport.”  Dragon nodded, feeling relieved to know that the planes were looking forward to their meeting.  “They really are very nice.” the train added, its doors whooshed open, and the dragon stepped aboard.
