Walter’s mother dies when he is ten, having prayed that he will be a preacher. His dad, brothers and sister help raise him. Walter joins the Navy during World War II, and his ship is torpedoed and sinks. He loves God and receives Christ after coming home and is called to preach. He goes to Bible college, accidentally sets himself on fire but survives. Then he meets Connie and they fall in love. They marry and become pastors, she with a puppet ministry. He has a heart attack and eye problems, but Connie develops breast cancer that takes her home to the Lord. He is still preaching.
