Tammy and her older sister are molested by their stepfather while their mother works. She accepts Christ as Savior at age six but the family quits going to church. Her sister accuses the stepdad, but their mother thinks she’s lying. She marries, tells her husband of the abuse, and they go to the prosecutor. Tammy is removed from her parents’ custody, but her mother threatens to disown her, so she returns home. She meets Kurt, a follower of Christ. But she dates a college guy who gets her pregnant. She has an abortion and drinks to ease the guilt. She plans suicide, but Kurt comes back into her life and persuades her to go to Bible college with him. There she finds the courage to confess her past and they marry.
