At the height of the Great Depression, nearly every family was affected in some way. Many were forced to leave their homes and move into makeshift shantytowns. "Hoovervilles", as they were o referred to back then were often made up of a mixture of petty criminals and the working poor, all struggling to survive. In Cleveland, Ohio, that struggle was made even harder when a depraved murderer made Kingsbury Run their hunting ground.
