As a regular part of the job, cops are regularly fed a “line of crap” or have to take a bite of a “shit sandwich." Ironically, our real dietary choices often reflect that same type of cuisine, which can lead to a negative impact to our health and well being.

So on this episode, we break bread with Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist, Megan Lautz of RescueRD to discuss her realistic and effective approach to helping first responders achieve healthier lives through better eating.

O, what a tangle web we weave, when first we practise to deceive!

-Sir Walter Scott

We return to Ferguson, Missouri to discuss how the lies of a high-profile, decade-old incident continue to harm and divide us, despite the honest efforts made by many members of that community that are attempting to help heal it.

We discuss how the defund and de-fame the police movement has proven to be so unhelpful that it has lead to the desperation of many police executives and politicians now tasked to deal with its consequences.

We examine recent responses from two cities, Minneapolis and San Francisco, that are attempting to address the impossible task of the lawlessness unleashed by this short-sighted and destructive ideology.

On the surface, these plans also don't seem to be helping.

On this episode, we are again discussing some topics that we’d rather not. However, this is a podcast and our show’s title says we talk, so we persevere.

The recent assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump has us considering how many of the current political and social factors impacting local law enforcement could have predicted the tactical and subsequent “expert” analysis issues surrounding this troubling event.

On this episode, we take the time to honor and reflect upon Scott’s safe and successful retirement from law enforcement.

For nearly 24 years, he set his own course largely based upon his uncanny ability to relate to almost everyone he met.

If America’s 248th birthday has brought us anything, it has been themuch needed exposure and accountability of the bad executive leadership within some of our most important institutions- one’s that often impact the quality of our lives, and in some cases, even our safety and survivability.

On this episode, we discuss a couple of the current examples of poor executive leadership that have directly touched us as citizens and police officers.

During her tenure as Cook County’s (IL) top cop, States Attorney Kim Foxx  has often left many cops and crime victims frustrated with the impossibility of career criminals ever facing a felony charge.

Ironically, that same standard doesn’t seem to apply when the States Attorney herself becomes the victim of lawlessness.

So if you’re looking for a big gulp of some carbonated street justice, pour out a little time for your homies and give this episode a listen.

We talk with retired Deputy Sheriff, wife and mother, Meagan McCarthy, about the circumstances that gave rise to her police advocacy work in California.

Meagan’s survival story epitomizes the horrible impact of the continued  scapegoating and dehumanization of police officers in a state where many of its politicians are struggling  to protect their failed policies of criminal justice reform.

Throughout all of this, Meagan has conquered significant personal burdens to become an advocate for the thousands of California cops that deserve better.
