Despite running a comics journalism outlet, comics conventions are something I don't know a lot about, certainly not from the operational side of things so I decided to bring in an expert. Jon Engel is the Regional Operations Manager of New Dimensions Comics in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and one of the organizers of the 3 Rivers Comic Con held in the city in June. It's a regional midsized comic con in operation since 2016 focused on comics and Jon was willing to share all the ins and outs of setting up an event of this size including some really fantastic advice for newer creators looking to visit a comics convention.
