I first discovered the benefits of self-improvement in my early 20s through the endorphin rush of gym workouts. However, it wasn't until a decade later that I truly grasped the significance of making self-development a lifelong pursuit.
Influenced by health pioneers like Gary Null, I delved into researching supplements, health misconceptions, vitamins, and more. Things I never learned in college. Since then, I've been inspired by experts like Tim Ferriss, Andrew Weil, Ben Greenfield, Dave Asprey, Aubrey Marcus, and many more.
Throughout the years, I've experimented with different self-improvement methods with varying levels of success. But, I've realized that the times when I struggled the most were when I lacked a clear plan of action. Without a plan & specific goals, it can be difficult to measure progress and stay motivated on your self-improvement journey.
3 Steps to Creating a Plan For Your Self-Improvement JourneyRemember that self-improvement is a lifelong journey and challenges will inevitably arise. But, by creating a clear plan of action, you can set yourself up for success and separate yourself from those who have tried and failed.
Let's start creating a vision for your self-improvement journey today!

Interviews with fascinating CEOs & Founders of the leading vertical farming companies from around the world.
I've been in podcasting since 2014 and have had over 387 conversations across my 2 shows, Podcast Junkies & Vertical Farming Podcast. Our done-for-you agency, FullCast, has also launched over 110 shows for our clients since 2015.
From my experience, I can tell you that there are a few pre-planning steps you can take today to help you get started (and that require zero gear considerations). One of the most important ones is creating a content strategy.
A content strategy is key because it will help you create a show that is relevant and valuable to your listeners. It helps you stay organized and on track with the topics you will cover, the format, and the schedule. Without one, it will be difficult to plan your episodes in advance. You will struggle to stay consistent and eventually 'podfade' (yes that's the technical term LOL).

But with podcasting in particular, I have noticed that the most successful hosts have one habit in common: Consistency.

Ever since leaving my 9-5 in 2015 I’ve been working my ass off to make up for what I perceive as lost time. That said, I understand everything happens for a reason, and have come to appreciate the magic that is divine timing.
I owe a lot of the progress I've made since then to countless coaches & peers alike. Here are 3 (of many) that have had an impact in my business and life, links below.
Taki Moore
I’m not sure my business would be where it is now had it not been for everything I learned about frameworks, coaching & implementation from my coach and friend Taki. Coming out of the corporate world his guidance and encouragement are something I’ll be eternally grateful for
Marie Poulin
Just as Notion was taking off, I found her course & it really provided a ton of clarity into just how powerful this tool can be. It’s now become the backbone of our client portal infrastructure & makes our production process flow smoothly.
Tiago Forte
Taking Tiago’s Building a Second Brain course is a master class in digital organization. Paired with his P.A.R.A. framework, it’s a powerful combo that’s dramatically changed the way I work on a daily basis, and provided much-needed clarity.
These people have taught me so much—and, just like they did with me, I hope to continue passing along what I’m learning to my students, clients and peers alike.

Back in my 9-5 days, my boss gave me unforgettable piece of advice, during a particularly stressful week of work.
I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything on my plate and worried that my inability to get everything completed that had been assigned to me would reflect poorly on me.
I was clearly running myself ragged trying to look good, and it was affecting the quality of my work. Like most young employees, I was eager to look good and be a ‘team player’. This was manifesting as:
Until one day, my boss said to me:
Look, At The End Of The Day, We’re Not Saving Lives
That day, the light bulb went off in my head. I was like, “hey, you’re right?!”
I was so deeply immersed in worrying and wondering that I couldn’t see the forest for the trees. While the work we were doing was important, when you compare it to what front-line workers have to deal with day-in & day-out, it pales in comparison.
It was also a healthy reminder that at the end of the day, most of our daily stresses, would look much different if given some room for perspective.
I’m constantly reminded of this phrase when I’m having a particularly challenging week with my personal life, “This too shall pass.”

Because it was my first.
Years ago, a good friend of mine gifted me Deepak Chopra's The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. As with all important messages, it came at just the right time for me and helped me navigate a challenging time in my life.
This was over 20 years ago, and since then I continue to have a newfound appreciation for the laws. Nowadays, terms like Karma (cause and effect) and Dharma (purpose in life) are more mainstream and relatable. A few takeaways from the remaining five:
Law of Pure PotentialityYou access this field through meditation, silence, non-judgement & appreciation of nature. The beauty is that, once accessed, you can always return to it.
The Law of GivingThe more we are involved in the circulation of the universe's energy, the more of it we will receive back. This not only applies to money, but also love & friendship.
The Law of Least EffortWhen our actions are motivated by love, not the desires of the ego, we generate excess energy that can be used to create anything we want.
The Law of Intention and DesireFrom a place of receptive stillness, we can depend on the infinite organizing power of the universe to make it manifest. We 'let the universe handle the details'.
The Law of DetachmentWithout detachment we are prisoners of helplessness, hopelessness, mundane needs, trivial concerns, quiet desperation, and seriousness. With detachment, we are free to witness the perfect solutions that spontaneously emerge from chaos.
You Are Powerful! You are not powerless. Keep in mind that the same laws that nature uses to create a forest, galaxy, star & human body, can also bring about the fulfillment of your deepest desires.
I invite you to recall a book that affected you deeply or was just the right read for you at a moment in need. Everything for a reason. Like most classics, the content resonates more deeply with each subsequent read.

I wouldn't call myself an expert in Self-Development; more of an eternal student.
However, I have spent over 25 years reading and learning about a wide range of topics to better myself personally and professionally. And I have probably spent thousands of hours practicing these in my own life.
This includes project management, marketing, entrepreneurship, podcasting, fitness, biohacking, nootropics, productivity, reading/learning, daily routines, goal planning, piano (finally this year) & others I’m definitely missing. It’s all made me the person I am today, and it shows no signs of slowing down.
Here's how I first got interested in Self-Development
Thankfully I’m a naturally curious person and love trying new things out. In the early 80’s I remember the wonder of learning computers & DOS (yes, dating myself), thanks to my father. That likely helped kick off my passion for learning that continues to this day.
So my goal over the next year is:
Continue sharing what’s working, what I’m excited about, and what’s getting me results. I invite you do the same as we all collectively raise the consciousness of this planet!

Prior to launching Podcast Junkies in April of 2014, I had already discovered the wonderful world of podcasts, and was amazed at how much valuable content was there at my fingertips!
When it came to learning how to podcast, I found the New Media Expo conference which I quickly bought a ticket for and attended.
That decision changed my life forever.
While I continue to attend and have spoken at conferences, and believe they are a great way to learn the basics, not everyone is ready for that time and/or investment commitment.

These 3 resources will exponentially accelerate your learning process. Links below. Remember, when it comes to podcasting, most podcasters will tell you that they weren’t happy with their first episode and didn’t like the sound of their voice.
As with all things you want to learn, you must put in the time. Your 10th will sound better than your first, your 50th will sound better than your 10th. But you’ll never improve if you don’t take that first step.

There are 3 topics I am actively thinking about a lot these days:
Topic #1: Podcasting
Since launching Podcast Junkies in 2014, my agency FullCast in 2015 and Vertical Farming Podcast in 2020, I can’t say enough about how podcasting has changed my life and introduced me to an amazing world of inspiring podcasters. I’m passionate about helping newcomers find their own voice.
Topic #2: Self-Development
I’ve always been interested in learning anything that has the potential to improve my knowledge and organize my life. I’m always looking to improve myself, personally and professionally. Think Franklin Planner, Getting Things Done, The 4-Hour Work Week, Ben Greenfield podcasts, etc. I'm continuously testing new approaches and will be sharing that with you.
Topic #3: Spirituality
My first peek into spirituality was being gifted Deepak Chopra’s Seven Laws of Spiritual Success (thanks Karina!) It truly helped heal my soul during a challenging point in my life. This was followed by Buddhism and a wave of New Age books. 25 years later, there’s no rabbit hole I haven’t at least taken a peek in when it comes all things spiritual, metaphysical or esoteric.
At age 52, I’m drawn to talk more openly about these topics and share my ongoing journey, in the hope that it inspires you to take daily imperfect action today, and for the rest of your life.
It would be great to connect with other people who are interested in these same topics—so if any of the above resonates, feel free to reach out!

This month I signed up to Ship30for30, a digital writing course by Dickie Bush 🚢 & Nicolas Cole 🚢🏴☠️
Since launching Podcast Junkies in 2014, and Vertical Farming Podcast in 2020, my focus has been on my voice.
Other than show notes, I rarely had to worry about writing, because my conversation with my guests was my content creation strategy.
I'm incredibly grateful to the hundreds of clients for whom we've launched shows with my agency FullCast since 2015. Podcasting has been great to me and completely changed my life.
But something clicked last year. I've always been a decent writer, but have come to appreciate the specific skillset that is writing for a digital audience.
I'm also the type of person that thrives with proper accountability and after watching the experience of friends that have gone through this program, I knew this group would be the conduit for leveling up my writing game.
3 Ways This Course Will Change My Life
Over the next 30 days I plan to write about podcasting, spirituality, and self-development.
I invite you to join me on this writing journey and hope it educates, inspires and motivates you to connect with the highest version of yourself.
