Bears, bugs, and dehydration are just a few of the main threats facing hikers of the Appalachian Trail. This vast walking trail attracts millions of determined outdoor enthusiasts who have hiked parts of the trail or accomplished the honor of saying they finished the entire trek all the way up to Maine. There are an unlucky few, however, who never left the trail.
