What can happen when a contractor breaks the rules?  We've talked about suspension and debarment, the extreme "you aren't eligible for Federal contract awards anymore" result.  In some cases, extenuating circumstances may cause the government to turn to other options, such as allowing the contractor to continue to operate under the watchful eyes of an Independent Monitor.
