The charity Fight For Sight UK is a major funder of sight loss research and provides financial support to the next generation of research scientists.
The organisation has helped, via it's grant scheme, Professor Robert MacLaren to develop and continue his work to develop a gene therapy for a rare sight loss condition called Stargardts Syndrome.
RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Doctor Rubina Ahmed, from Fight For Sight UK, and Professor MacLaren to learn more about the condition and the advances in work to tackle Stargardts.
