关于卡塞尔文献展：

1955年，由卡塞尔本地画家及学院教授阿诺德博德（Arnold Bode）策划的首次卡塞尔文献展，旨在重新建立二战后德国与世界其他国家的对话，并通过 "展示二十世纪的艺术 "接轨国际艺术舞台。为弥补当下国际艺术信息匮乏的巨大渴望，这场兼具了当代艺术调研以及学术讨论的展览，成功吸引了13万名观众来到卡塞尔。展览意外的成功，促Bode计划在1959年举办第二次展览，从而确立了文献展的展览周期。每届文献展由当届艺术总监提出想法和理念，它不仅是一个展示时下当代艺术发展趋势的大型研讨会，同时也是一个试验、创新展览发展的地方。每一届文献展都会在引领新的国际艺术讨论方向发挥主导作用。
