The death of Mercedes Morr is still a murder investigation. In 2022 Police said that they found Morr's body in her home at approximately 4.30pm. They also found the body of 34-year-old Kevin Alexander Accorto, according to ABC 13. He is believed to be the suspect in Gagnier's killing. According to police, Morr died from strangulation and he died from multiple blunt force trauma with a pointed object in a suspected murder-suicide.
