God had the nation of Israel act out, beforehand, the exact type of Christ, 'the Lamb of God’—'Christ our Passover’—who would come nearly 1,500 years later to shed His blood, giving His perfect, sinless life as a sacrifice to pay the penalty of our transgressions of God’s law.
